Objectives and Structure

Background

Freedom Coalition SLU (The Coalition) is a group of various organizations and individuals who have united around a set of common ideas and have agreed to organize themselves into a “Collective” for the purpose of achieving their common objectives. The Coalition will organize its members into a National Representative Council, Freedom Coalition SLU National Representative Council, (The FCNRC), to better undertake the work at hand. Each organization and individual will maintain its sovereignty while contributing to “The FC-NRC”:

• no more than (10) persons from each group, at any one time, to directly participate in the affairs of the organization,

• the payment of membership dues,

• the supply of manpower, and

• any other resources as may be required (from time to time) and within the scope and capability of each organization and individual.

The Freedom Coalition SLU National Representative Council (FC-NRC) will elect, from among its members, a President, an Executive Council (The Executive) and Chairpersons to head all Standing Committees.

Objectives

The current objectives are:

1. To preserve the Freedoms and Liberties of Saint Lucians from:

● any unreasonable restrictions,

● suppression of alternative treatment for Covid-19,

● failure by the authorities to follow “good science and practices” with respect to Covid-19,

● imposition of vaccine or any other mandates on the citizenry by the private sector,

● the failure of Government to protect the rights and freedoms of the citizens,

● exclusion in the decisions that are taken on behalf of the population, as they pertain to health, the COVID 19 pandemic and the remedies we choose for our bodies.

2. To enhance the quality of life and the health of Saint Lucians by:

● Promoting and encouraging healthy living practices,

● Promoting the consumption of locally produced foods and guarding against the use of imports that could be detrimental to the health of the nation.

● taking relevant steps to prepare, and ensure that we are sufficiently informed, and a plan is put in place by the authorities, for St. Lucians to cope in a post COVID-19 era.

3. To promote and develop the economic well-being of the Citizenry by:

● Identifying and engaging in sustainable development initiatives,

● Promoting and encouraging the participation, of the average Saint Lucian in the economic activity of the nation, and

● Undertaking food security measures to supply locally produced foods and to guard against unfair trade practices.

4. To embark upon an information dissemination drive and an education process in support of the above objectives by:

● Engaging in research and the gathering of relevant information

● Providing orientation to The Coalition on the business of The Coalition to achieve a “Collective” mindset,

● Providing training where necessary to cultivate good work ethics aimed at the delivery of quality workmanship and the maximization of output for time spent, and

● Imparting skills and knowledge to the citizens in areas deemed to be essential for the furtherance of the objectives of The Coalition.

Structure

The Proposed Structure of the Freedom Coalition SLU is a National Representative Council, an Executive Council not exceeding nine (9) members, five (5) Standing Committees and Ad hoc Committees to be created on an as and when required basis.

The Freedom Coalition National Representative Council (The FC-NRC)

The FC-NRC will embody the entire membership of The Coalition and will be responsible for electing a Chairperson, President, members of the Executive Council, and chairpersons for the Standing Committees. In addition, The FC-NRC will ratify resolutions from the Executive Council, act in an advisory capacity, and set mandates, among other duties. Meetings of the FC-NRC with be held monthly in the interim stage and can be changed to annually when it is deemed to be appropriate.

The Executive Council (EC)

The EC will be the nerve center of the FC-NRC. It will be responsible for strategy, policy development, programs, and execution of mandates and plans. In fact, the EC is the de facto leader of the organization.

The Executive Council has an elected Chairperson, an elected President and an elected Executive Council consisting of not more than nine (9) members, to govern, administer and manage the operations of the organization. The work of the Executive Council will be supported by five (5) Standing Committees whose Chairs are also elected by the FC-NRC, and Ad hoc Committees that may be conceived from time to time.

The EC serves to implement the mandates from the FC-NRC, works closely with the president, oversees the standing committees, develops programs base on reports from both the President and Committee chairs, appoints committee members to work with the elected chairs in consultations with them.

The EC will meet weekly in the interim stage and can be changed to monthly when it is deemed to be appropriate.
