Executive Summary

Freedom Coalition SLU (The Coalition) is a group of various organizations and individuals who have united around a set of common ideas and have agreed to organize themselves into a “Collective” for the purpose of achieving their common objectives. Each organization and individual will maintain its sovereignty while contributing to “The Coalition”: (a) no more than (10) persons from each group, at any one time, to directly participate in the affairs of the organization. (b) the payment of membership dues. (c) the supply of manpower. (d) any other resources as may be required (from time to time) and within the scope and capability of each organization and individual.

The current objectives are (a) to preserve the Freedoms and Liberties of Saint Lucians, (b) to enhance the quality of life and the health of Saint Lucians, (c) to promote and develop the economic well-being of the Citizenry, and (d) to embark upon an information dissemination drive and an education process in support of the above objectives.

The Proposed Structure of The Coalition is a National Representative Council (FC-NRC) – the general membership, an Executive Council (FC-EC) not exceeding nine (9) members, five (5) Standing Committees and Ad hoc Committees to be created on an as and when required basis.

The Executive Council has an elected Chairperson, an elected President, a Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Public Relations Officer, Chief Technology Officer, and Legal Counsel. The Executive Council will consist of not more than nine (9) members, to govern, administer and manage the operations of the organization. The work of the Executive Council will be supported by five (5) Standing Committees whose Chairs are also elected by the FC-NRC, and Ad hoc Committees that may be conceived from time to time by the FC-EC.

The Standing Committees include (a) Education and Communication - Media Watch, Communication and Publicity, Research, Education & Training, Policy Development Committee. (b) Security - Legal Advisory, Intelligence, Human and Constitutional Rights Committee, (c) Revenue Sustainability - Resource mobilization and Fundraising Committee. (d) Wellbeing - Food Security, Healthy Living, and preparation for Life PostCovid committee. (e) Infrastructure - Facilities, Technology, Equipment, etc.

Ad Hoc Committees. Provisions have been made for the creation of Ad hoc Committees on an as and when required basis.

The criteria for holding positions on the EC and Committees are (a) Passion for the cause, (b) Willingness and ability to commit to the cause, and (c) Preferably, should have some skills in area(s) of responsibility.

Membership Requirements include the completion of an application form, agree to work to further the objectives of the coalition, abide by the code of conduct and pay a Registration Fee of $10 plus the required Coalition Support Pledge of $5 monthly.
